Privacy Statement Regarding the Directions Website

Purpose

Data are collected to enable the EUISS to understand better which are the most popular topics and pages on its website, by analysing data on visits to the website.

Data Controller

The Data Controller is the EUISS and specifically the EU Cyber Direct Project Coordinator.

Legal basis

The legal basis of the processing operation is the establishment of the EUISS.

Data categories

Data subjects are all individuals who visit the Directions website.
For every visit on the website, we store: the website from which the visit originated, the parts of our site visited, the date, time and duration of the visit, IP address (anonymised), and information from the device (device type, operating system, screen resolution, language, country you are located in, and web browser) used during the visit.The analytics tool used is Matomo and the data are stored in servers managed by the EUISS.

Recipients of the data

Data are handled by the EUISS staff dealing with the implementation of the EU Cyber Direct project.

Right of access, rectification, blocking and erasure

Data subjects requesting to access, rectify, block or erase their data shall contact the EUISS, via the online contact form. You can also write to the EUISS data protection officer via the online contact form if there are any difficulties or questions regarding the processing. Data subjects have also the right to have recourse at any time to the European Data Protection Supervisor: http://www.edps.europa.eu

Data retention policy

Anonymised and aggregated data are stored for the duration of the period of two years.

Website

The Directions website uses cookies (small data files transferred onto computers or devices by websites) for record-keeping purposes and to enhance functionality on the site. You may deactivate or restrict the transmission of cookies by changing the settings of your web browser. Cookies that are already stored may be deleted at any time.

Opting-out

By default, the browsing experience of website visitors is tracked in order to produce anonymised statistics. You may choose not to be tracked (opt-out). If you change your mind, you can choose to be tracked again (opt-in). If you choose to opt-out, you will receive an opt-out cookie so that your decision is remembered. If you regularly delete your cookies, you will need to opt-out each time you delete them.

Do not track

Do Not Track (DNT) is a web browser setting that requests that a web application disable its tracking of an individual user. The Directions website fully respects the DNT settings of your browser.

Purpose

Personal data are collected for the sole purpose of distributing the Directions Newsletter.

Data Controller

The Data Controller is the EUISS and specifically the EU Cyber Direct Project Coordinator.

Legal basis

The processing is based on Article 5(d) of Regulation (EC) No 45/2001. Data subjects unambiguously give their consent to the processing of the personal data when filling the online subscription form.

Data categories

Data subjects are all individuals subscribed to the Directions Newsletter.

Data subjects subscribe through an online form, where the only mandatory fields are: email address, first name, and last name.

Recipients of the data

Data are handled by the EUISS staff and specifically the EU Cyber Direct Project Coordinator and Project Manager. Data are stored by the external provider contracted by the EUISS for hosting and maintaining the Directions Newsletter service.

Right of access, rectification, blocking and erasure

Data subjects may edit their data at any time or delete their data entirely by logging in to their user account and clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ button. An unsubscribe link is also found at the bottom of every Newsletter. Data subjects requesting to rectify, block or erase their data and unable to use the online form can also write to the EUISS data protection officer via the online contact form if there are any difficulties or questions regarding the processing. Data retention policy

The data will be kept by the EUISS as long as it is necessary for the distribution of the Newsletter.
